i have a 01 montero and the truck just died on me my wife had drove it on thursday and the battery cell was bad so i replaced the battery with a new one truck started right up and the interior lights were not lighting up nor the dash lights and the power locks will not lock at all the tow truck oper said it was the altenator so if this has happened to anyone please respond back i need to know what is wrong i replaced fuses and checked relays too...

well if it was the alternator, how can it start up again and only have some components not working?

if it was the alternator, then evntually the battery would be dead and NOTHING would work..

this sounds like fuses and relays, even though you said you already checked that.

 

took the truck into a shop and the battery was dead as a door nail the problem is fixed and running fine now thanks to all the people who replyed
