Default Highway RPM

I wold like to see some responses from Montero Full size (not sport) owners equipped with 5 speed auto transmission what are their usual RPM while at highway speeds!

Mines are at 65mph around 2300 rpm on level surface.

it feels like is asking for another shift but already a 5th!

Is that normal?

Hi Juanchos, my montero limited would also be at that rpm at 65mph. Mine is a 2001...so it has the 3.5 engine. Don't know about the ones with the 3.8 but i'm guessing it would just be the same. I wonder at what rpm would the montero xls with the 4 speed matic be at 65mph.
What makes you say it needs another shift? Noise from the engine?
