How to disable ABS on 2008 Pajero/Montero?
Hi,
I have a switch to disable Active Stability Control, but I cannot switch off ABS.
There is a fusible link next to the postive terminal on the battery. If this is removed, I think ABS will be deactivated.
ABS hinders drive ability on steep dunes, when you brake to avoid rolling back. I want to switch it off when off-roading.
Any ideas?

Ijust read an articleabout the ABS faults when off road, kinda scary...I hadn't thought about it too much and had the ABS come on when I was coming down a loose gravel trail and I did loose braking for a very short duration. [:-]
The best way to disable ABS is to pull the fuse, as you already mentioned. That being said, your vehicle's probably under warranty and you might be best talking to the dealer before doing so. Reason I say this is because the new ECUs store fault codes, and when youpull the fuse, the ABS light will come on. When you reinstall it, the light might not go off and taking it to the dealer to clear the code may cause you to lose your warranty...this is especially true if you live in the Gulf region.
