Default How do you set compass in 95 Montero?

How do you set the compass in a 95 Montero. I tried pushing "S" button and driving around in circles (like in a 96), but no success. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks!

This always works for me - and itis the method described in the manual.

Push the S button until the S readings start going in circles on the dial.

Then back up in 90 degree turns four times until you are back pointing in the direction you started. The compass should now read correctly.

Ron,

this compass doesn't have the "S" on the compass display. Instead the compass is more like a band, with a pointer that keeps moving left to right. In any case, I think I will try your method also, can't hurt! Thanks!

You push the button until the display starts blinking. Then release the button, then drive around in circles. You do not hold the button while driving in circles.
