I have a 2001 Montero sport 3.0 4x4 I purchased as is. Two months later the transmission will not go out of 3rd gear with the neutral light flashing. I put it on the OBD-2 Computer and it said shift B solenoid malfunction so I pulled the valve body replaced the solenoid, and noticed the wiring harness on the outside was chewed up from the drive shaft and getting caught. I replaced that and currently waiting on another wiring harness that goes to valve body solenoids on the inside the transmission. Could their be another source to this problem? Is their a shift B solenoid in the engine area?
