Default Mitsubishi montero 2002 3.5

Hi my engine overheated and dropped all its water from the back of the engine. We waited untill it cooled down and added water again and drove it home added more water and the leak was gone. We let the engine work in idle for hours and no water came out at all .Today i drove to work and again water was dripping from the back of the engine at a steady pace when I parked. What could be the problem. We checked all the hoses and they where fine.

Refill the coolant/water, run the engine until it starts dripping again, then crawl arund with a flashlight and a mirror (on top of the engine as well as under the car) to see if you can locate where it is leaking. Alternatively, you can take it to a good shop where they can pressurize the cooling system and locate the source of the leak.

Could be that darn little coolant hose that goes up to the bottom of the throttle body. I hate that design, as its just an accident waiting to happen. When it leaks, the coolant very well could flow backward and down the back of the engine.
