Check your suspension for wear. Are your shocks all blown out and bushings worn out? Is one of the springs busted? If so, you know what you need to address. If possible, check with previous owner if the suspension has been swapped/upgraded. If it has been upgraded to Heavy Duty, then you will have harsh ride unless you load up the truck. The Heavey Duty suspensions are designed to "soften" the ride when it is loaded, but will be too stiff for the unloaded conditions.
