need help on rear brakes !!!
got the 3 clips removed for the ds rear brake..however, how do i get the 2 rods/ that hold the pads in place out ??? so i can pull the old brake pads out and slide in the new ones ?? do i need to remove the caliper from the rotor ? or is it like a Toy Landcruiser, remove clips, anti squeal shims, pins and viola put new pads in ??? s
its a 99 Montero Sport XLS...the two rods holding the pads together...guess i have to hammer/drive it out and the rod/pin should slide out ? therefore allowing me to drop in the new pads ?
The pins are threaded into one side the calipers. You need to remove the caliper and the two halves should be able to be separated with the pins still threaded into one side. Why do you want to remove pins?
