Default Newbie Questions

Hi,
I just bought a '94 LS with the 3.0 L Engine... 113k miles on it. Love it so far and I want to get at least 100k more miles out of it. My questions are: Is it worth the extra $$$ to getthe mitsudealer (vs. my regular mechanic) to do the timing belt? I smell some burning (oil I think) after I drive it, but there it's not leaking enough to leave spots in the driveway. I don't see any smoke coming from the exhaust, so I'm guessing one of the cam seals is leaking onto the exhaust system. It's not enough to see any smoking under the hood.Should I fix it now or wait till it gets worse? Also, there's a little valve clatter under load - should I worry about this? Any input would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

honestly check prices and look into the shop repution before sending it anywhere. and it always best to fix it now because the headache hasnt started yet... so my advice is go with quality over price in sum situations..... but get it fixed asap!!!! trust me it will save from other money having to be dished out in the long run..

Why wait for the cam seal leak to get worse? Just fix it.

Your vehicle will use some oil, most likely through worn valve stem seals. Not much you can do about it without changing them. (a time consuming job).
