After checking my oil, I found that is was low. Last time I did the change was 6 months ago with Mobil 5w30 full syth 5qts and drove it about 2k since. The monty only has 63k total. I did the oil change today and found that only 4qts came out. Checked everywhere, and no oil leaks were present and there have been no burnt oil smell.
Can someone elaborate where the qt is going? I understand that higher engines consume oil, but I dont think 63k qualifies as high mileage.

i've had engines over 300k that don't use oil.

if it's not falling out, it's being burned.
two solutions: replace piston rings
OR
use heavier oil.
