I would love to know if this is true cause Mit. just told me im out of warranty, they said there recall only covers 10 years from the day the recall was issued which somehow they said was in 2000 on my 2001 montero limited or 150000 miles( mine only has 92000) which ever comes first. so im like a year out of warranty. Its just funny that the part was changed and i have the exact same symptoms.

my unit was done i n 2002

am i getting jerked around?

FYI, my 2002 Montero LTD had the HBB replaced NO CHARGE, it's a recall. Dealers get paid by Mitsu for recall work, right? I think I had 100K on it at the time...FYI

 

Hey all this just happened to me (3/2012). I could not meet the 10yr or 150k extended warrenty so the dealership will charge me aprox $1000 for the part and $300 for labor. Gonna look for another auto repair shop

 

What years are affected by this problem? Thanks
