Question on lug nuts for my Montero Limited 2002
Hey guys,
Finally getting rid of my 16's and putting some 20's on. What size of lug nut fits? Right now my lug nuts are to "wide" to fit on my new 20's (see attachments). The one on the left is what is on there right now holding on my 16's, the one on the right is what come with my Wheels, but the "inside threading" (picture 2) just slips over the bolt, so my tires wont stay on. Do you know the thread size for lug nuts so I can go by 24 new nuts and my tires wont come off when I drive down the road?
Thanks

The lug nuts that are on the factory rims are specifically designed for the hub centric style of rims they put on the trucks. You will have to find a set of lug nuts to fit that go with your new rims.

similar question, how hard is it to remove the lug nuts from my rotors and add them into new rotors? Is there a set tool or simply unscrew them? thanks

Re-using lug bolts is not advisable since they're pretty inexpensive. I recommend buying a set rather than reusing them off an existing vehicle. IIRC, someone once told me that the lug bolts and nuts should be replaced regularly... Something like every time you get new tires or so but perhaps someone who's more knowledgeable can chime in on that.
I have never had to replace a lug bolt I haven't broken. I've never seen them "wear out." I know you can find a set of regular lug bolts to fit the lugs on your monty, call NAPA, PEP boys, Autozone, schucks or whom ever. Tell them you need a set of lug bolts to mount steel rims on a Montero/Montero Sport. If the tech knows anything, they should be able to help.

Also, I agree that most any car parts store will have them available.
