Default Question about lug nuts

New member....1st question. Just bought my daughter an 05 Outlander as her 1st car and the 1st order of business will be to replace the steel wheels with a set of OEM alloy wheels.

My question for those who have alloys on their Outlanders is what type of lug nuts do the alloys have? The "mag seat" type with washer? -or- The "acorn" type that has an angled seat without washer?

I've purchased a nice used set of alloys and want to be sure not to mismatch the lug nuts.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest checking with the dealer. My last few had acorn with washers but one of our lancers had only acorn. I use acorn with the steel wheels I have in winter but the acorn with washer for our oem rims. I would think the acorn with washer is better for alloy as the force is distributed a little more than just the acorn but I could be wrong.

Look at the nut seat on the alloys, if it is a machined flat seat, get mag lugs with washers.

I think all Mitsu stock OEM mags use mag lugs with flat washers as they are hub centric and not stud centric.
