I just got through rebuilding a 1999 Montero Sport with the 3.0 engine. It got a full kit including rings, all the bearings new valve seals, ground cranks you know the full kit. It also got new lifters and they are making alot of noise. I also have a wierd diesel soud at idle. Other than these two noises it runs out great. Any suggestions as to what could be the cause of these two noises. Oh yea I am not getting any codes either. Thanks.
