Does anyone know where to get a repair manuel for 96 & newer montero, besides the dealership. I tried Chiltons but on luck.

check maybe autozone. They sell haynes manuals. Not sure about your car but its a start. If they dont have it on the shelves then ask and maybe they can order one. They are only $20. If they dont have one then it looks like the dealer is the only option

 

I got mine on eBay for my 2003, just try a search on the site. It's an electronic version on CD. Mitsubishi was smart in limiting production of manuals, as it forces folks to go to the pros.

It cost about $40.

I ordered one on line last night, like 94 thru 99, on ebay. it's on cd and cost $10.90 and that includes shipping.

Post up what you think of those manuals. I got a similar one for my VW golf and it was a crappy early edition mitchell guide.

In my experience I definitely prefer the real factory service manual over any of the various alternatives I've ever seen. FWIW, all mitsu factory manuals are available. You just have to order them at your local dealership. They are expensive however.

I got a manual on Ebay for my '03 full size Montero. It was the true factor manual. It is has great info, although it is a bit hard to navigate.
