Reverse Problems

Speaking of this, when was the last time you flushed your transmission and completed a fluid exchange?
(I'd recommend using only MM ATF.)

Thanks for your replies!!
i bought the car 5 days ago..
Drive, 1 and 2 works fine.
I called a transmission work shop they said it could be the reverse seals, a $800 job.
The fluid seems ok to me but is a little over fill.
Does bad fluid do reverse problems?
Anyways tomorrow i will add the additive.

When you check the level of the transmission fluid:
-bring the transmission to operating temp.
-run it through all of the positions (R,D,P,N) leaving it in each for a bit.
-place the selector in N with the rig running
-check the fluid level
-it should be up near the hot indicator (but not above)
I'd also suggest changing the fluids in both differentials and the transfer case (all of these are just a drain and fill service, easy DIY).

Since you just purchased the rig, I'd begin with a complete fluid exchange with MM ATF (not just a drain and fill). Did the vehicle come with a service record where you can trace the last transmission service and find out what fluid was used?

Sorry for my ignorance, what does mean MM ATF?

Mitsubishi Motors Automatic Transmission Fluid.
Here is a link to source the fluid if you don't have a dealer near you.
Scroll down to the page to find it.
STM: FLUIDS | ENGINE OIL | TRANSMISSION | ATF | TRANSFER CASE
Is the dip stick reading .5 inches above the hot line when checked according to my previous post?

I tried to buy this at my local dealer and was told they only had it in "big drums" and told me to go to NAPA or O'Reilly. Is there a good alternative?
