RPM drops slowly
Hello, New to forum, I have many questions but I will start with this one first. Just picked up a 99 montero sport 3.0 automatic. I noticed once the idle drops when warm, If i blip the throtte from idle (1000rpm) say to about 2000rpm and higher, the rpm will settle at about 1500rpm for about 3-5 seconds before it drops to normal idle rpm of 1000rpm. Idles fine though. Can anyone give me some insight as to the cause and remedy for this act. Any info will be appreciated.

RE: RPM drops slowly
hello,i'm new here.
i'm from malaysia.
my 89 montero have this problem too.it takes a long time b4 it settle down at 800rpm.
everytime i rev the engine it will drop down back to 1200rpm and stay there 4 a long time b4 dropping back to normal speed.sometimes it just stayed at 1200rpm.
the engine and carburetor are still standard.its the 2.6 petrol version.
this does not happen b4.
