spark plugs
Autozone said the standard plugs have the dual tips on them. I thought about opting for the single tip because they were not $6 a plug. Will it make any difference if I use the single versus the dual tip???

autozone is full of crap as usual. mitsubishi NEVER put a dual tip plug in the galant from the factory. what year model and engine is in your galant?? DENSO plugs are the way to go. later models 04 and up where platinum tiped SINGLE electrode plugs. let me guess 'the zone' tried to sell you some fine quality autolites!! STAY AWAY FROM 'THE ZONE'.

oooops, thought i was on the galant page!! sorry. still though. mitsubishi never put double electrode plugs in the montero either. do you have a sport or the full size?? in the sport 3.0 and the 3.5 engine both used platinum tipped SINGLE electrode denso plugs from the factory. they are expensive plugs i know. DO NOT use a regular plug in that engine. your performance will be affected.

I put Iridium plugs on my 84 Honda CX500 and it made a noticeable difference in its performance, so chalk me up as a believer. Just because a certain part wasn't recommended my the factory back in 95 or 2000 or whenever the vehicle rolled off the assembly line, that doesn't mean that advances in technology should be ignored forever. I'd be very interested in installing Iridium plugs in my Montero if they are available for that model.
My 2 cents, anyway....
