I have a 2002 Montero Limited, and my speedometer needle has been sticking, and occasionally jumping, and when I tap the dashboard, it jumps again. I’m hoping to just open the cluster and see if the needle is flat or touching something, I hear that might be an issue. Should I do that first? Do you think it’s a more serious issue, do I have to replace any motor inside? I guess it’s worth me opening up and checking it out, but I’m hesitant to go in there without having some kind of hypothesis … Thx!
