Torque Converter Shudder???
Any one with Ideas on this would be helpful Thanks...
I have a 2000 Montero sport 3.0l with 207,000 it started having a shaking feeling when driving at speeds of 30-50 and once the car had warmed up. I replaced 12 qts of SPIII from cooler lines this was at 203,000. the problem did not go away so I've been noting all issues.
Here where I'm at the shaking is intermittent. happens from speeds 10MPH to 60. where 30 to 50 is the most common speeds however if I feather the pedal it will go away. Also was told to try in 3 and not D however the problem is still there. If I hit a bumpy part of the road it sometimes will cause the problem as well. at 60mph to 80 mph it never happens and drives perfect I drove 240 miles yesterday and not once did the problem occur until I was on the service road near home at 25 MPH then it happen.
I'm lost for answers. first I though torque converter shudder would not happen in gear range 3 this is one thing making me wonder wtf.
Wondering if a mount is bad however not a common issue on these? wondering if the Torque converter is just bad however when I stop it does not kill the engine or even cause a idle issue. and it shifts very smoothly into all gears.
I have also reset the computer by taking off the battery cable for 20 minutes thinking maybe a learned issue. did nothing! No CES light and no codes when read from ORBII
Please any ideas!!!! Need my truck to last till June then It will go up on E-bay LOL
