Default Towing a car with montero sports

Hi,
I have 2001 Montero sports XLS with 3.0L engine and am thinking to tow a car
which weighs around 3300 lb on car trailer.
If you have done towing a car with Montero sports, could you tell me how it sounds like(accelaration, braking etc) ?

Thanks

I'm sorry it's unclear what you mean by "how it sounds like"?

Are you asking us about it's towing ability or how the engine and brakes sound like when towing??

If you asking about towing ability you can do it and better is the heavy car is mounted on a car trailer. The Montero is a strong vehicle you can do it with confidence. Accelerate and brake with careful.

I had my wife tow my Ford Focus with the Monstero today via tow strap with out a any problems at all... my little Focus is about 1k lbs lighter then the car you're looking to tow though. Good luck!

dont have a tow package myself but i recently had 2 tow my dads full size silverado with a rope and didn't have any problem. acceleration sucked though. but if ur a novice tower, at higher speeds don't just stand on the brakes until u stop, give urself enough room to brake for afew seconds and then let off 4 a`second to cool the brakes and just do that until you slow down enough.

paris to dakar you still there?

I hope you're not lost in the Sahara like some of the teams this year?

Again, not clear on your intensions but I should ad that I've rope towed my buddy's 2004 GMC Sierra (crew cab) when it broke down on a local fire road last year. I had to tow it up and down several hills and this was with my tired 1990 4 door 3.0L v6 Montero. Downhill was scary w/ his power braking gone.

Sorry to be late to respond.
I wantedto know the towing ability, especiallyhow good the brake works.
I'm thinking to tow the open trailer and a car, which weighs 5000lb in total.
Looks like Montero sports can do good enough, if I could avoid uphill and downhill road.

Thank you all for your input.

I know I'm kinda late to the party here so to speak but you BETTER check your owners maual about braking. I think the sport has the power(lol)to move 5000lbs but I don't think it's recommended to stop it. I think I read you need trailer brakes for anything over 1800lbs.

I have a Montero XLS which I know has the above conditions.(3.5sohc).
