The manual calls for 84-108 in lbs (9-11nm). I ended up getting a rubber gasket for mine when it was a cork one that came off. Going to the higher end of these torque specs caused the gasket to swell and almost squeeze out!

I know this post is old but people still read it as research, at least I do anyway. So I feel like it would be worth the time ccorrecting the error you made on the inch lbs. The manual calls for 69 inch lbs. It was an easy mistake becuse it took me several times reading it before realizing it said except Montero 84-108 inch lbs., and the next line in the sentence below it was Montero 69 inch lbs or 7.8 nm. I hope my tranny doesn't spring a leak because I was going off your figure before noticing the error.
