I have 99 Sport with a 3.0L and a R4A51 tranny. I have lost all forward gears so I'm now looking thru boneyards for a replacement tranny. There seems to be more AW30-40LE's than there are R4A51's. From the research that I have done the R4A51 started in 99 and went up thru 04ish and the AW30-40LE was used prior to 99. I know that the 3.0L was the same between 98 and 99. So the question is will the AW30-40LE fit and work in my 99 without too many modifications? Mechanical? Drive shaft length? Electrical?
Or is there a better option?
