Default Water pump leak

I have a 02 montero sport 3.0. I have replaced my water pump, but it is leaking from the gasket on the bottom left corner.

The cork gasket that came with my timing kit from rock auto is not functioning. I am hoping for some help with this. I have a metal gasket that came with my gasket set that I can replace it with.

Does the pump require both gaskets? If so, which order do they go in? I would like to turn my Monty into my daily driver, but the water pump issue is holding things up. Thanks in advance.

more than one gasket would be asking for troubl.
Get some rtv sealand, or 'gasket goo'
clean ALL the old gasket off BOTH surfaces. I use a 4" wide paint scraper and/or flat file.
Run a bead of gunk around the pump, gasket on, another bead on gasket.
Finger tight pump in place.
Torque the bolts IN A CRISS CROSS PATTERN.
Ie 12-6, 2-8, 4-10 kind of dealio.

are you sure it's the gasket surface leaking not a crack in the pump casting? if i leaks, it's not right, which means you done something wrong... by all means try another gasket...
