07 front strut help
Hello all. Was greeted this morning with the snap of a front driver side coil spring.. was aware some time ago there was either a TSB or a warranty recall on the springs. I'm pretty sure with 135,000 miles that my vehicle no longer falls under any warranty that would have been available.. Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong? Also, has anyone replaced these themselves? It doesn't look like rocket science. I've never replaced struts before as I'm unsure of the safety issue regarding using a spring compressor tool. But I have no fear of using one as long as it's explained to me. Was also considering Monroe Quick struts that come as a pre-assembled, pre-tensioned unit that you simply swap out. Any advice would be appreciated. Also a time estimate if I decide to do it myself would be helpful. I consider myself a very handy with tools type of guy and have done many repairs on my cars before, just not this particular job.
Thanks as always

Since the Outlander Sport (OS) and the 2nd gen Outlander are on the same platform you can take a look at the DIY video from the list I put together for the OS in the following thread:
How to DIY video list
It seems fairly straightforward. I would recommend to look around in nearby junk yards and grab a full strut assembly (coil+shock absorber). In my area it would be $30+tax Canadian.
