I think it'll be fine...go for it and see what happens. You can always bring it in and make a huge fuss about it.

Your owners manual should say somewhere in there what the roof is rated to hold- it's usually around 100lbs or so if I recall, they don't like them to be top heavy or creasing the roof. good luck

Here's my update.. Dude says no crossbars are available I said fine give me the luggage tray and cargo matts for the trunk. This was last friday - Saturday nothing - monday i call in and talk again. Dude says luggage tray doesn't isn't available I said go look at the website. Its there... Now its wednesday i get the call back saying it'll be in on Friday, i said both my luggage tray and cargo matt? he says no only 1 item. i said wait wait wait.. Your trying to give me a luggage tray in stead of cross bars? They said crossbars aren't available. I said Yes I know. You shold of known that before you sold me the car and not make false promises. he said wat we are doing is substituting ONE item for ONE item. I said the value is totally different. he says, wat we rated you for was 96 dollars. I said what you rated me for was a Ski Rack NOT crossbars.. therefore i would of came back at you with your Error regardless. he then tries to pull the aluminum roof wont take cross bars and I said, then why does the australian site sell the Thule Crossbars as an assessory? Then I go, you sold me a car with cross bars. There are no such things as crossbars in the "US" for this vehicle, therefore you dont know your product and owe me something of equal value. He said whats the australian website, I said I dont know off the top of my head, it shouldn't be that hard to find out. he says I'll look it up and call you back.

Damn it! If they can't provide me with crossbars then give me something(s) of equal value. Since they can't value it, compare to other sites. Not shaft me 50 bucks.. given that its only 50 bucks. I do not like how they have dealt with the situation hence the ******* i have become towards them.

Dont buy a car from a dealership that does NOT know anything abotu their product.

Its a shame.

You can get a snowboard rack for your outlander from Thule or Yakima. I have a roof rack with a snowboard attachement from Thule. You can also get a dedicated snowboard carrier as well, but the attachement works just as well if you ever decide to add a luggage or whatever Thule has to offer.

Unless you get the snowboard dedicated rack, it'll cost at least $300 for the setup. The crossbars alone cost about $150. Also, if you have season passes from your local mountain, sometimes they have deals with local vendors.
