'07 Outy shifts hard when cold?
My '07 Outlander LS seems to shift hard when cold...especially on the downshifts. I try to warm it up first when I can, but I can't always do that. I always take it easy while it is cold, but it just makes me wonder if this is normal or not. I bought my Outy used with 11,600 miles on it, so I'm not sure how it was driven those first few break in miles. It only has 17,000 on it now. Other than that, it shifts nice and smoothly when it is warmed up.
Thanks all!

RE: '07 Outy shifts hard when cold?
It caught my eye when reading the owner's manual that at temperatures of -31 F (-35 C) or lower, "it may not be possible to start from a standstill even with the selector lever in the DRIVE position." It goes on to say that you should let the engine idle for at least 10 minutes to warm up the transaxle.
-31 F is pretty cold - about 15 degrees colder than it ever gets here in CT, but that's the first I ever remember reading a low temp limit for a transmission in an owner's manual.
