Default 07 XLS engine

Hello all
Can anyone tell me if the v-6 engine in the 07'XLS is a 12 or 24 valve engine? Correct me if wrong, but I believe it is a 6B31 engine?
Thank guys.

thanks
I was researching engine type in regards to timing belt replacement.
The site I checked specified that the 6b31 24 valve was an interference engine , and that the 6b31 -12 valve was a NON interference engine...
in fact, the site listed ALL Mitsubishi engines except for the v-6 12 valve as interference type .?..

As far as I know, all the Outlander engines are interference but I am not even close to an expert.
I myself have been researching as I will be replacing my timing belt on my 07 Outlander XLS in the next week or so, but from looking at my engine it appears to be DOHC, but all my online research says it's SOHC.
Guess I'll find out for sure when I get the cover apart.

Found a great video on YouTube, but I still get contradicting information! In the video details it describes the engine as SOHC at the end, but at 12 seconds into the video the narrator says it's a DOHC engine.
I mean, it's pretty clear that it's dual over head cam because you can SEE the two cam pulleys. If it's so obvious, I am just at a loss at how many articles and pages and write-ups have incorrectly identified it. Even the Wikipedia articles for Mitsubishi, Outlander, and specifically the engine itself are wrong. I guess that's not saying much for a site that can be edited by anyone though.

From my understanding from research, 07-09 the v6 Outlander engines were non-interference and then in 2010 Mitsubishi opted for a higher compression and upped the horsepower from the same engine by increasing the stroke length making it an interference from 2010 onwards.

Yes, that's great info! I was also able to spend more time searching old threads and found an excellent one that mentions some non-interference relief spots in the 07-09 models.
