Question 1st oil change 2016

OK so it came time for my 1st oil change on my 2016 Outlander SEL and I would like to know something. What has Mitsubishi done to my truck that will not allow me to reset the oil change light? It shows the ____ where the mileage should be and won't reset. Anyone else have this issue?

There's a page in the Manual about changing and resetting it. I set mine to OFF..I change my oil every 12,000 Km (7500 miles) using synthetic..I keep an eye on my mileage so I have no use for a reminder. I believe there is a sticky or thread showing step by step instructions on how to reset it. Best of Luck

Thanx but the reset doesn't work and I cannot find anything about turning this feature off.

Resetting only resets the reminder. You need to actually deactivate it. I deactivated mine on my 2016, but I don't remember if I did it through the normal information screens or if I did an ETACS mod to turn it off. I was messing around with both for a number of changes I wanted to make. However, I think it requires ETACS or the dealer to turn it off because I see no mention of deactivating in the manual.

ETACS is a whole other ball of wax that requires some effort. It's not hard, just requires some steps. Or you can just go to the dealer to deactivate it for you on your next trip in.

so not sure about the brand new ones, but in the '07 generation, you could disable the reminder via the information button. that is also in the sticky thread.
