Default 20" Rims

Hey Guys, new to the forum here. Just picked up a 08 Outlander AWD LS a couple nights ago, White diamond paint and black interior. Pretty sharp looking SUV but I would like to put some 20's on it. Does any on the forum have 20's just looking to see what size of tires you can run and how much your loosing in MPG. I've seen on Car domain a guy running 255-40-20's, there just a touch taller then stock but about an inch and half wider. So if anyone has 20's what size of tires are you running??? any rubbing issues

Thanks
Scottie

I have 20's in my 07 Xls. The tire size I have is 245-40-20's. The speedometer very accurate, no rubbing issue, I even installed a lowering kit and no rubbing with 2 adults in the back seat.

Thanks for the info. Are you still getting close to the same MPG? and how much rougher does it ride?

Is there anyone running 255/40/20's?

Thanks

I did not notice any difference in the MPG, and the ride is slightly rougher but not noticeable.

correct me if I am wrong, but if I replace 18" with 20", i will increase the rim size, but reduce the tire size (because of low profile), so essentially, it will be the same size anyway.

My other question, how wide can I go with the tires on stock 18"

Wheels size 20 x 8.5, Offset: 35mm. The final cost with tires and shipping, I do not remember exactly how much I paid! was about $2000 dlls.

........hey , 07 blk lab.......what lowering kit did you get ? ( colt speed ? ).

the "perfect" size tire , if replacing the 18" , is 235/55/18.

i was going to get 20" at tire repacement time......but i kept looking at wheels that looked

like my stock xls 18" wheels. so i stayed with the stock and got the 235 tires.

I bought the spring kit from a local distributor. The brand is H&R. This kit is listed in the German H&R website. For anyone who lives in North America, H&R does not list the springs for the Outlander on their USA website. I contacted H&R USA and asked them if there was a lowering kits for the Outlander. The customer service dept. told me that they have a few kits in stock for the Outlander. So I contacted my local H&R distributor and they were able to get them for me in a week.
