2003 Outlander shifting
Sometimes one knows just enough to be dangerous; and I hope this is not one of those instances.
While looking for some information on an unrelated matter, I saw somewhere in a thread that disconnecting the battery will/might lose data that has been accumulated and is used during operation of the vehicle.
I read a little further, and I believe it said that this data will be re-created based upon driving conditions. Or something like that.
Since changing the battery- or at least that seems to be the cause-, the car seems to lurch (a more technical term from my wife was hiccup) when shifting between first and second.
Could someone please verify that data used in driving might be lost when the battery is unhooked.
Or at the very least let me know that the thread I think I read has me wrapped in a tangled web.
Thanks

Yes, that's normal for any newer car that has an auto transmission. The 2nd gen Outlander manual mentions explicitly that it will do hard shifting for a few thousand km...so its the same case as the 1st gen.
