Default 2007 Outlander Warrior 3rd row seats stuck in the up position

Have just brought a 2007 2.0 Outlander Warrior and the 3rd row seats are stuck in the up position. When you pull the strap nothing happens.

Has anyone else had this issue and is there an easy fix without replacing the entire seat unit?

thanks.

Are you sure you're pulling the straps and releases in the correct order? There are three of them, and if you pull them out of order you won't be able to collapse the seat. It's a clumsy system.

indeed, put the headrests down, then pull one that lays the back of the seat onto the base, then pull the other one to release the base and it swivels back into the hole, click the front down, then the back down - UNLESS you're Outie's been in an accident, mine was rear-ended years ago and it took the body shop three times to get it square so the seat would function
