2009 hesitation
I recently purchased a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander. Multiple times a day, it hesitates when I try to accelerate. It happens in all sorts of situations. Dead stop going straight, dead stopped turning either way, coasting and trying to accelerate slow and fast speeds. It's about a 2 second hesitation, and it lurches forward after. Although that may not seem like much it is very dangerous in City driving. I've never been in an accident in my eight years of driving, and I don't want that to change now. Especially where it would be my fault to the insurance company. My 2003 Lancer also did this, but it had a check engine light for the EGR valve/sensor. The only code under the check engine light for this is a catalytic converter with poor flow. The previous owner is paying to have that fixed. I don't see how that would affect the car actually moving. I saw another threat on here that question the same problem and they figured out that it was from them driving with two feet. I don't do that, and I tend to drive it gently as I like to keep my 27 MPG average hahaha. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It actually was the catalytic converter in his and an exhaust system that needed a few new welds. They didn't say what was wrong with the catalytic converter (poor flow maybe?), but the new one (after costing a pretty penny, so I'm glad the previous owner is paying) fixed it right up.
After that, it properly accelerates now. Maybe wait & see on the converter, but this is just my anecdotal experience. It could be something totally different.
