Default 2009 outlander purchase
found an '09 outlander with 140k on it, 4 cyl. are these timing chains or belts. also how is the valve adjustment to be done on them; cup and shim style or set screw and jam nut style?

Make sure you run a Carfax and Autocheck on it, have it inspected by a mechanic as well.

4cyl is a chain. 6cyl is a belt. No clue on lash adjustment...235k+ and no adjustments needed on my 6cyl
