I wasn't talking about the <2009 SE models...
also according to azjake, Quote: "Yes, the chrome piece at the bottom of the doors in the picture is what I saw."

ORIGINAL: tdford

This has been talked about several times. And no Shambala on the SE (Special Edition) trim they do not come with the silver side garnish, but with a totally new side skid plate that is chrome:

Wow dger, $55,000 is a lot of money, even with all the extrasyou mentioned.Does that include a value added tax you might have in the EU? Here in the US, you will pay in most states between 6% - 8% extra in what we call sales tax. Its my understanding a fully loaded 2008 top of the line XLShas a sticker price ofabout $35,000 here in the US, although I don't think it has all the extras you talked about. I know when I went into the UK Mitsubishi website and looked at their prices and converted from the British pound to US dollars, they also seemed higher than the US prices.

If you want to feel better, go look at how much they pay in Singapore! The web site only has one trim for the Outlander, so no idea what it compares to, but it's listed at about $70,000 US

Yes Azjake, thats the price on the road, 19% VAT & licesense plates included. I forgot it also has self leveling headlights plus 7 years guarantie for mechanical parts, 5 for electronics (MMCS I suppose). Price in EU vary but nothing near your ones... they are way up. Here in Greece cars up to 1,600cc have relatively low prices as to other EU countries, but there on are very heavily taxed. I also pay an annual "car tax" of US$ 690. Petrol is about US$ 1.72/litre.... Costly affairs big cars in EU (we consider OUTIE BIG not small like in the states.

Your right about the size of the Outlander, its in the small crossover catagory in the US with the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and Toyota RAV4. Vehicles like the Ford Expedition, GMC Denali, and Cadillac Escalade tower over the Outlander. Theylook like tanks compared to my little Outlander. My brother-in-law in Illinois used to own a Chevrolet Suburban that had the nickname of "Urban Assault Vehicle" because of its huge size.
