Default 2010+ F.A.S.T. Key and Remote Start

hi all,
my 10 Outie comes with the F.A.S.T. Key and OEM remote starter, as you see, there are TWO fobs.

then from 2012, Outie Sport star using the new and redesign Key w/remote (below), not sure about if new regular Outies equips this? 12? 13? 14?

my question is can
the current two fobs be integrated into the new one? if so, i could simply buy a new fob and ask dealer to program it...and i'll keep the old physical key and the FAST fob for emergency...thanks!

That would be way too easy. The extra pad on the FAST fob should be for the remote start, but then who am I to be telling Mitsu how to do things.

You can not combine the two. The extra pad is the open trunk button on lancers and the new generation outlander.

let me put it in this way: I'd like to use the new single fob (the 3rd picture), can the two current fobs be simply substituted with the new one by dealer reprogramming it?

Is it compatible with both FAST and remote 'systems' but without removing or modifying both existing harness inside the car?

boogunoogun: what has to be done to add the function of opening the tailgate/trunk in the third current fob button/pad? Is it possible?

I don't think you can do what you want as the Fast key has very short range and the remote start seems to use a stronger radio signal so you can start the car from further away. From the looks of the original fobs that's what I have arrived at this conclusion.

Not 100% sure on how to add the 3rd button. I think you can enable it in the etacs, but even if you could add the button, when the trunk latch opens, it stays shut unless you start to open it. Then the 2 trunk pistons help open it up.

Wouldn't do you much good. Unless maybe you added really strong pistons, but then shutting it would be a bitch!
