2010 GT V6 - "jerky" transmission
I got my GT about 4 months ago, it's a 2010 GT with 52k miles now.
The transmission is kinda funny on this car, I didn't notice it at the test drive or few days after the ownership. Basically the shifts are pretty rough. Here are the problems I can list:
- There's jerk when it downshifts when you come to a stop
- The engine revs up when you go uphill on 2-3 shift sometimes. I.e. you start from a traffic light at the bottom of a hill and there's 1/10 chance the engine will rev up 300-500 RPM mid-****s. There's no jerk, just engine revving.
- Overall "jerky" operation during shifts. I've been in 100k+ mile cars with smoother trans.
I changed trans oil at a dealer about a month ago, didn't notice much of a change. Differential oil hasn't been changed yet (not sure if it'll make any difference?).
I'm a second owner so only have 8k miles left on warranty, time to get extended warranty? I'm sure if I take it to dealer now they'll just shrug it off and tell me it's supposed to do that.

Here is my take, without having a look at it.
No clue where you are at, but when the fluid is cold/cool you'll really notice it downshifting.
When you take it to the stealership, all they do is a drain & fill, which only replaces about 1/3 of the total fluid. Meaning you still have a lot of crap in there. The service manual states that you should let the transmission pump itself dry by letting it bleed out of the return line of the tranny radiator. using that method, you get about 3/4 of the fluid out. The amount I pay for the fluid and do it myself is the same price if I let the stealership drain & fill. I do mine every 45k miles and there is quite a noticeable difference in the way it shifts.
The other thing to check is to make sure you are in AWD mode or not. The vehicle is noticeably jerky in 2WD than AWD.
I changed my differential and transfer case oil with 75w90 Mobile1 at 60k miles and it was pretty gross. I re-checked my fluid around 120k miles and it was looking pretty good yet, so I'm going to let that go to 160k.
