2010 Outlander

Tested the Lock Mode in the GT a few times while on my daily commute. Mitsu should have named this mode Fun. With the torque going to the rear, it feels more like a sporty car. Cornering is a whole lot funner. I find that I can apply the gas alot more sooner when exiting a long sweeper. I may have to keep the Outlander in this mode forever LOL.
I got a reply from Mitsu corporate about 'lock' in the S-AWC Outlanders - it sends UPTO 70% of the torque to the rear diff - up slightly from pre-2010 AWC outlanders @ 60%.

I'll be looking to replace my wife's car in May, and was seriously considering the GT, with the nav/leather option, but won't even consider it with BLACK interior. The XLS doesn't have the S-AWC, so I too may have to look at another manufacturer. I haven't contacted any dealers yet, so I may be able to order a Cosmic Blue with beige interior for a May delivery. You would think if black was the only color interior available, someone at MMA would update their web site to reflect this! If I have any luck, I'll post my results.

I found a white paper on S-AWC. It is highly technical but if you enjoy physics and mechanics you will like it.
