Hi All

I purchased a 2011 outlander about a year ago and is fitted with the 2.4L engine.

Every now and then (maybe once every 2 weeks) when coming off of moderate acceleration there is a "fluttering noise", thats the only way i can describe it, it also sounds like the boy racer turbo flutter (which i am guessing it is) Sounds very similar to this video:


It seems when ever this turbo fluttering occurs there is quite a lot of blueish smoke coming from the exhaust again under moderate acceleration. Also on today's run (experienced the flutter and smoke) when arriving home and parked up i could smell the distinct burning rubber smell coming from the O/S/R wheel/ back-box area

Anybody else experienced this or have any ideas??

 

I would think you might have a sticky EGR valve? Thats just the first thing that popped up in my mind.
