Default 2011 sport..Hood not closing tightly

As I walked up to my car I noticed the hood looked "ajar".....Thought maybe I hit the hood release by accident...was not the case because when I did pull the release it lifted more... I did notice also the the pull didn't have the same resistance as previous
Know for a fact that this hood lines up perfectly and is flush with the nose and makes a good seal on the rubberized gasket up front.
The hood does indeed lock, but I can push down on it and has about a half inch of play before it contacts the seal. I see No evidence of tampering or the front getting hit.. So I'm a little confused, also seems like the strike is not adjustable
Anyone else experience this, if so what was the cause and what was the fix
I'm afraid with that gap my well kept engine compartment will need more frequent cleaning (yes somewhat ****)
Thanks in advance

I thought most hoods had a little play when you pushed on them... Are you sure your not just squishing the seal down further?

There is probably a way to align the latch, you should look at the service manual to know for sure.

Isn't it still under warranty at this point? Why not have it looked at by a dealer?

They do, But this seems excessive.. Day light willing..I'll post a pic in a little while
I know for a fact that when the hood is closed it is (was) flush / tighter to the nose

Here's 2 shots, I understand it's not a Mercedes.. But I recall the gap was never this wide between the hood, nose and the lights

Hood lays on 2 rubber feet above the headlights. Rotate them clockwise to make the hood seat deeper.

I doubt that it's those stoppers, because there is a lot more play / slop than normal when pushing down on the hood, if those feet are adjusted way high, then I should be experiencing the opposite...Like no or very little play and make latching more difficult....no? Or am I not understanding something..

But you do agree the gap is more than normal?
Thanks
