2012 mitsubishi non-turbo charged models - maintenance and service schedule
Folks
I purchase a 2012 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER ES 2WD in July 2012. The service meter on my car shows 12000 kms or 6 months but recently I got a email from Mitsubishi that
"It has recently been determined that an error exists in the paper version of the Warranty and Maintenance Manual that was supplied with your vehicle. The manual incorrectly shows a “regular maintenance schedule” based on 6 months or 12,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first).
In fact, your 2012 non-turbo charged Mitsubishi vehicle requires maintenance every 5 months or 8,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first). This service interval is based on some new technical features in the engine and powertrain components, as well as Mitsubishi’s engine oil recommendation, which is 0W-20 Genuine Mitsubishi fully synthetic engine oil."
This is increases my overall maintenance cost and loss of time.
Please advise if I can take up this case with mitsubishi for giving me false information while purchasing the car.
Thanks

There were 2 intervals.....the first was 6,000km and the second was 12,000km.
The 12k one is regular and 6k is severe weather conditions.
When i bought my 07 Galant in Halifax, the dealership there used the 12k.
But when I moved to Ontario, they use the severe weather one which was 6k.
The new 8k one replaces the 6k severe weather condition one and not the 12k regular one.
