honestly, i dont like the new design, it just looks like they cut the nose off and put on different headlights... But the outlander Sport is a beauty

As I understand, the all-new Outlander will come out as a 2013 model year (so probably somewhere in 2012 calendar year). Anyway, I don't think anyone knows any details but from what I understand, Mitsubishi is shifting its strategy from performance cars into MPG efficient cars, especially EV/hybrids. So I don't think we will see a 300HP Outlander, more like a hybrid Outlander. Since now there have been rumors that Mitsubishi is gonna kill the Lancer Evolution ( http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/02/r...chise-is-dead/ ), I wonder if that also means they will go into new design direction starting with the next generation Lancer/Outlander. I guess there is always a chance that the engines will get direct injection but I would also like to see the interior materials improve a bit (which judging by Outlander Sport will probably happen) as well as outside paint to be of higher quality.

According to this site, just head light and tail light shaping changes, if I read it correctly:

We will see ...

I work at a Mitsu dealer and I am responsible for ordering the cars. Build out has happened on the 2011's but I haven't heard of any changes for 2012. The first batch will not have the "link system" because of the tsunami but thats it.

We are expecting a plug in hybrid version for 2013.

I've been to a dealer who said the 2012 model will have minor tweaks to the head and tail lights, as well as chromatic (Auto-dimming) rear-view Mirror.

Any one know when the new car is expected to be delivered? Feb/March 2012?
I'm assuming this is going to be the last change to the current Outlander range before the 2013 hybrids?
