2013 Outlander Video

Yes, it looks like a block of soap, actually this will help blend in the cute ute market much better than the current look.
I do not want to lose the S-AWC so I bought the 2012 now. But you got to admit the 2013 interior is looking quite luxarious. Looks like the Nav is in higher resolution as well.

WOW, what did they do to the rear???? I can probably live with the front. But the rear and tail lights are a NO for me. Ok, so they add power liftgate, but lose the tailgate..... I love my tailgate.
There seems like there are some nice interior features though. Looks like:
- dual climate control (plus digital auto, no more dial)
- turn navigation on HUD
- new MMCS unit, larger screen, two *****
- push button start
- new steering wheel with new buttons
- nicer door panels
obviously who knows what will come on the North American model (maybe you do) but looks like Mitsu is at least trying to upgrade the outtie.

Yup, most of these upgrades are what reviewers usually gripe about. (**** for A/C, and no **** for stereo)
Turn between speedo is very euro, ford had this years ago in Europe, not sure if it will make it here.
I heard they will also be building the new ones here in Normal IL. Hopefully the quality is just as good.

I don't like much about it to be honest. The interior looks like they scavanged parts from whatever they could find and put it in.
Examples:
- In keyless model the key area has an ugly circle of plastic covering the hole
- Centre switches (4 way flashers/ECO) look like something from my 1988 Honda Civic
The outside front is beyond ugly for me, it looks like a cheap peice of thin plastic (maybe its just the orange colour?). The rear looks like a Subaru Impreza hatchback that has been stretched vertically.
The rear passenger area looks good along with the doors, centre console is better in some parts, but its very inconsistant.
I think I will keep my 2008 LS until the warranty expires in 5 years...maybe it will improve a after a facelift.

I agree the orange color they are showing it in is bad. Maybe their marketing guy is color blind. I've seen it in white and it looks much better. The exterior to me is a very conservative design and looks somewhat like the Kia Sorento of a couple of years back. FWIW The Ford Escape has been the best selling CUV in the US for the past several years and prior to it's 2013 redesign was very boxy looking, so I guess exterior appearance isn't everything.
