All that is known so far is that the next generation Outlander is supposed to be based on the 2009 Mitsubishi PX-MIEV concept ( http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/20/t...re-convention/ ). Its supposed to come with similar drive train system to Chevrolet Volt (gas/electric). Other than that I can't find anything else on the web. Right now Hyundai/Kia have released pretty nice CUVs so the bar has been raised pretty high So if Mitsu wants to stay in the game they better one up the competition. They can't allow to build another generic CUV (thats Hondas/Toyotas market where Mitsu will get clobbered), so they will need something polarizing.

I've heard the same thing Blitzkrieg has. The PX-MIEV CUV will be an advanced hybrid drive train and most likely arrive in showrooms in 2013. The only thing that bothers me is the concept car is only a 4 seater and Mitsu has to have it a 5 seater to compete with what other manufacturers will offer.

As far as one upping the competition, I know Mitsu can more than hold it's own when it comes to the technology. It seems to me they get a lot of their criticism from the so called experts on interior design and materials. I like the interior of my Outlander, but I guess to impress the auto media they will have to kick it up a notch or two.

i was planning on leasing or financing a new outlander when the redesign happens. quite honestly i do not like the look of the current outlander, but the outlander sport does look sweet. but now after seeing those pics my hopes are shot if it looks anything like it. if they keep the design on the sport similar but add a more powerful engine i may get that instead. If not this 07 i have is for the long haul.
