Question 2014 "bed length" - for sleeping/camping ?

Will some kind soul with a 2014 Outlander please measure the "bed length" i.e. with all rear seats folded flat what is the length (and width) in inches from the front of the 2nd seat-back top (without headrests) to the rear hatch?

While manufacturers offer cargo space measurements, none provide "bed length" measurements!

reason: I'm trying to determine if an Outlander might make a suitable occasional 'camper' where I could sleep in the rear, if all seats are folded down flat.

I'm hoping to see as close as possible to 74", the length of MY chassis.

Thanks,

I haven't measued, but with the 2nd row seat folded foewad, I think you'd ve hard pressed to get that kind of room.

Mine is a 2012, and the few times I've had the seats folded foeewad, it didn't look like quite that much.

Just so happened to have a 2014 sitting in our parking lot. With the seat laid down flat (which is a nice feature) I came up with 64" from the hatch to the top of the back seat. Between the wheelwells I came up with 39".

Bless you, 11SE2HEAR; that's JUST what I needed to learn. I 'hear' ya.

Apparently, that would suffice for a 74" diagonal 'sleep-bed'.

It's interesting to me how similar SUVs seem to be. From tailgate to rear-seat-top, I've seen 64" to 68".

My `07 Civic sedan, also, measures 64" from tail to rear-seat-top! To the front seat ... all the way forward with the front seat-back straight up ... it's 80"!!! 40" between the wheel wells.

Anyhow, THANK You ... for taking the time and effort to measure the 'bed-length'. You've made a 'happy camper'.

I love my outlander, but if you are looking for a car camper, the honda element would work great. all 4 seats are ment to fold down into a bed. Part of the design. the floors are rubber, you can hose out the floor if you wanted. and there is a tent attachment.

Before my outlander, I couldn't afford an element, but had I bought one, i'd be camping like this

or even sleep on top

... interesting option, boogunoogun

I didn't see a Honda Element, but I looked at the Honda Pilot, which looks similar. I've noticed that the 3-row SUVs have more room, but in addition to costing lots more ($31,120 MSRP for AWD Pilot), they are heavier (4,500 lbs) and get mileage like a full-sized pickup truck ... 17/24/20 mpg.

Thanks - for showing those interesting pix.
