Default 2016 Outlander GT

I traded in my 2015 Outlander SE yesterday (131k on it and loved it). Wanted more towing so went to a 2016 GT everything else the same as my old one.

One sales person told me it had steel timing chain. Can anyone confirm this?

From my drive home it seems like more of an upgrade than just the engine.

I think that's wrong. All versions of the 6B31 V6 in the Outlander have a belt. I think the 4-cylinder engines all have chains.

Replacement of the belt is required at 105,000 miles (at least for the V6 in my 08).
