Default 2018 Outlander Rear Pads Wore Out at 56,000 Miles

I have a 2018 Outlander with manual parking brake. 2.4L. My wife was complaining of a metal on metal noise. I test drove it and it sounded like it was coming from the front brakes. I inspected the pads and noticed they still had about 50% left. I decided to order new pads and rotors for the front since I felt like the rotors were a little warped anyway.

Next day she called me and said the noise was worse. I stood outside as she pulled up to our driveway. I could hear metal on metal coming from the right rear. I inspected the right rear pads and the inside pad was down to the wear bar. I was very surprised to see the rear pads were down worse than the front. I cut off the metal tab for the time being so the noise would stop. I then noticed the piston was not backing completely off with the parking brake off. I could push on the tab for the parking brake to get the caliper to completely release. It seems to me the retention spring is not strong enough to completely pull the piston back.

Is this a widespread issue? I have seen a few other posts with the same problem.

I'm not a fan of dealerships. The last one I visited told me it's normal for cars to use coolant. I call bs. After I left I did a pressure test and after about 15-20 minutes I noticed the pressure dropping. I can lightly smell coolant from the passenger side of the radiator.

I also think there is a freon leak. It feels like the compressor is cycling when driving above 35mph. It doesn't feel as cold when we first bought it. If it wasn't R1234yf I would repair the a/c myself.

Has anyone else had these same issues?
