My 19 Outlander Sport 2.0 CVT has a low speed shutter that started to act up at about 2000 miles. I now have 3500 miles on it. This condition starts as about 10 mph through 35 to 40 mph. It smooths out after 40-45 mph.
Took it in for this issue last week to see what they have to say, as I expected no codes and the tech couldn’t get it to repeat. This happens cold and hot. It’s interesting that most times it occurred after making a turn. Another fact is I owned a 15 Outlander Sport that had the same problem. After 3 months of service appointments Mitsubishi HQ, told the dealership to do a fix with a certain part that brought the issue from a 10 down to a 3.
That dealer service manager acknowledged the problem and said it was a ongoing issue with 2015 transmissions that switched to CVT’s.
So it appears that that this is continues to be a issue 4 years later.
Have any of you had this problem? My dealership tells me that this is normal operation. I don’t think that’s correct.
