Default 2021 Outlander PHEV 7 seats?

Looking into plugin Hybrids. What the chance the new redesign Outlander PHEV will have 7 seats? The new Totya Rav 4 plugin looks really good (39 miles on electric) but might be too compact for my needs

I would say highly unlikely. The battery pack is where the 3rd row seating would have been. Plus the Outlander's 3rd row is really only suitable for small humans or pets.

But articles about the spy shots are saying this vehicle is a lot bigger and is more of a midsize SUV now

If they use the Nissan Rogue platform (which is larger than the Outlander) it seats 5 in it's current configuration. Adding battery packs and hybrid components only take up more room.

Hmm ok, I guess we will need to see. Weird that even though the current gas outlander can hold 7 seats but a bigger outlander could not do 7 seats with a battery

The current Outlander PHEV is only a 5 seater currently also.

Yes I know I'm talking about the Gas one. If the gas one can do 7 seats you'd figure if the new one is a good bit bigger (which reports suggest) that they could get another row of seats in even with the battery

The Rogue is bigger, but really not in length:

Current Outlander Dimensions: 185″ L x 71″ W x 67″ H

Current Rogue Dimensions: 185″ L x 72″ W x 68-69″ H
