Default No sound out of left speakers only on CD

Hey I'm having a weird problem with my 08 Outty that just popped up in the last few days.

When playing CDs, sound doesn't come out of the left speakers. When playing the radio, sound comes out of the speakers normally.

When playing a CD, if the Balance is changed to full Left, you can hear a very faint garbled sound almost as if the speakers are blown.

But switch it over to radio and everything works perfectly fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounds like the optical lens isn't reading the cd like it's supposed to. Considering the year of your car you might want to bring it into the dealer and let them look at it. Could still be under the 5/60,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Good luck!!

Sounds about right. I'm checking with the dealership.

Will post an update.

Thanks.

I had exactly this problem 3 years ago. It was solved by removing the stereo unit (5 minute job) and blowing it through with my air compressor. I refit it all and It worked fine after that.

Same thing happened to my 07. I replaced with a nice kenwood unit.
